Given that there are a seemingly endless number of applications that industrial fans can be placed under, it is necessary to have fans that are custom-made for the purposes that the fans will be used for. Fans are differentiated by how they are operated and where they are placed within an industrial facility.
Centrifugal vs. Axial
Industrial fans are either centrifugal or axial fans. The assembly of the centrifugal fan is known as a fan wheel. Axial fans rely on axial forces to move air and gases. The centrifugal fans are usually better-suited for high-volume applications, while the axial fans are better-suited for low-volume applications.
Ceiling fans are useful because they do not take up as much space, given that they are suspended above. One of the downsides of ceiling industrial fans is that they are difficult to service since they are sometimes more challenging to access.
Wall fans are considered a good option because they do not take up as much space. Also, along with the ceiling fans, they are considered safer because they are less likely to come in contact with employees.
Mobile industrial fans are often pedestal fans that can be setup anywhere in the shop. They be placed in any location where they are needed the most. The height can also be adjusted as needed.
The pedestal fans are limited in how large they are. A better alternative is the floor fan. While they take up more space, they have more flexibility in regards to how large they are. When choosing the right industrial fan, consider how much power will be needed to meet the industrial applications that you must have met. If the fan is more powerful than necessary, it will use excess energy. Fans that have less horsepower and that are backwardly-inclined use less energy.
